Democratizing KnowledgeAutonomy over knowledge provides one with a sense of self-efficacy. However, due to power imbalances, autonomy over knowledge cannot be shared equally. Currently, most knowledge is governed by authority rather than autonomy. This, unfortunately, invites the situation in which most people, even those who authorize knowledge, rarely have a sense of moral obligations for production and reproduction of knowledge: knowledge appears to be dealt with as if to be a quasi-object. Knowledge needs to be democratized by carefully looking at power relations and how we make sense of them.
